Welcome to the Moving Forward after Grief course! This course is designed to help you navigate through the difficult and often overwhelming process of grieving, so that you can eventually find peace.

In this course, you will learn valuable insights into understanding grief and its effects on your life, as well as how to cope with it in a healthy and productive manner. We will explore different strategies for healing, such as mindfulness and self-care practices, so that you can work toward an acceptance of what has happened while also learning how to move forward with your life.

You will gain an understanding of the complex emotions associated with grief, such as guilt, anger, sadness and despair. By acknowledging these feelings and finding ways to express them in positive ways, you can be better equipped to cope with the challenges posed by grief.

It is our hope that through this course we can provide guidance and support as you go through your journey of healing. We understand that everyone grieves differently; therefore all methods discussed herein are intended to be helpful tools that you can use according to your own unique circumstances.

THE EXPERIENCE

This course on Grief Recovery is designed to help individuals learn how to understand, cope with, and move forward after a loss. In this course, participants will explore the dynamics of grief and its various components including physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual aspects.

Through guided discussions and reflective exercises, they will gain a better understanding of the grieving process in order to identify their own coping strategies. They will also learn practical tools for managing grief such as journaling and mindful meditation as well as how to find support from others.

By the end of the course, participants will have developed skills to help them move forward through the stages of grief towards a more positive outlook on life. This course has been created to provide individuals with an opportunity to process their feelings related to grief in a safe environment amongst peers who are going through similar experiences.

Week 1

Introduction to Grief

In this week, participants will be introduced to the concept of grief and its common associated emotions. They will learn about the stages of grief, such as denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. We will discuss how these stages can manifest differently in individuals depending on their own unique perspective and life experiences. We will also discuss healthy coping strategies for managing grief, such as journaling, mindfulness and support groups.

Week 2

Exploring Your Feelings of Grief

This week we will focus on exploring and expressing our feelings related to grief. We will practice mindful self-reflection techniques to help us identify our thoughts, feelings and sensations surrounding our loss. We will practice different ways of self-expression through writing, art or other creative media which can help us process our experiences with grief in a safe way.

Week 3

Understanding How Grief Affects Relationships

This week we will discuss how grief can influence our relationships with others in both positive and negative ways. We will explore how we may be able to use our relationship network as a source of support during times of grief and how we can actively work towards maintaining healthy relationships during this difficult time.

Week 4

Reclaiming Identity After Loss

During this week’s lesson participants will reflect on how their experience with loss has affected their sense of identity. Together, we’ll look at different ways to create meaning after loss by exploring new avenues for growth or personal development that weren't possible before the loss occurred.

Week 5

Self-Care Strategies for Grieving

During this session we will review a range of self-care strategies that can help manage feelings related to grief. Students will learn about creating boundaries within relationships, building resilience and cultivating relaxation practices that can be used even when feeling overwhelmed with emotions related to loss or bereavement.

Week 6

Honoring Memories

This week’s lesson focuses on learning how to honor memories of those who have been lost.. Through various activities such as remembering stories or engaging in traditional memorial rituals , participants are encouraged to explore what works best for them when creating meaningful connections with those who have passed away in order to keep their memory alive .

Week 7

Forging New Paths After Loss

During this session participants are encouraged to share ideas they have come up with while reflecting on their journey with grief over the course so far . The goal is for each participant to find new avenues for healing such as volunteering , taking up a hobby , or supporting others who are going through similar experiences .

Week 8

Reflection & Moving Forward

This is an opportunity for participants to reflect on all they have learned throughout the course , share any final insights , and make a plan for continuing their journey towards recovery from grief .

This Grief Recovery course is designed to help participants better understand grief, cope with its effects and eventually move forward in life. It will assist you in developing insight into the complex emotions associated with grief and provide useful strategies for managing them.

Those who have lost a loved one, experienced a traumatic situation or other distressing event can benefit from the various techniques this course provides.

Throughout the program, you will learn practical ways to improve your resilience and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the grieving process. With the right support, guidance and resources, this course can help you start to build a foundation towards a healthier future.

THIS EVENT IS NOT FOR YOU IF …

The Grief Recovery course is not for everyone. Those who are not ready to accept the pain of grief, or who have been in denial about their loss, may find that this course is too intense and difficult to face.

Additionally, if someone is not looking to actively take steps towards recovery and moving on with their life after the loss, then they may find that this course is not a good fit. This is because the class focuses on understanding one's feelings surrounding the loss, processing and validating those emotions, and finding ways to move forward from there.

For participants who do not wish to confront their grief head-on or find closure, then this course may not be suitable for them.
